About This Product
Opoponax — sweet myrrh — is a resinous gum from the Commiphora guidottii tree of Somalia, distinct from regular myrrh in its sweeter, more balsamic character with vanilla-like undertones. Used since antiquity in incense, perfumery, and sacred ritual across Africa, the Middle East, and Mediterranean. This attar captures the warm, balsamic richness of opoponax in a concentrated wearable form. Excellent as an incense-like personal fragrance.
How to Use
For Deity Worship: Apply generously to your fingertips or use a clean soft cotton swab. Gently massage the deity's full body, avoiding painted areas, before bathing. A small amount may also be applied to the deity's flower garlands. For Personal Use: Apply a few drops to your pulse points — wrists, behind ears, and neck. May also be used lightly in the hair or a small amount on clothing. As a pure anhydrous oil, it is completely free from alcohol and synthetic preservatives, and will last throughout the day.
